IHRSA supports contract provisions that allow for automatic continuation of service at the end of the original term on a month-to-month, at-will basis, as they offer consumers increased choice and flexibility. IHRSA will continue to monitor this bill and update you as it moves forward. The bill now heads to the Senate for further consideration. The health club also has the option of providing the consumer with a pre-formatted termination email to cancel the contract online. The link or button must be in a prominent location on the website and in clear and conspicuous text. The bill further requires that a buyer who enters into a contract online must be provided with the option to terminate the automatic renewal online through a direct link or button on the health club facility’s website. Lawmakers in New Jersey amended and passed A.3892, a bill which would require any health club contract which is entered into online to also be cancellable by the buyer online. This report is to be created in consultation with the State Department of Public Health, the State Department of Education, the Office of the State Fire Marshal, the Department of Industrial Relations, parent advocate organizations, and other stakeholders. The newest version of the proposal requires the State Department of Social Services to provide a report to the Legislature on or before January 1, 2024, that includes information regarding topics related to the health and safety of children attending children’s camps and recommendations for developing and issuing requirements for the regulatory oversight of children’s camps. August 23, 2022: CA Senate Amends Bill Regulating Children’s CampsĪ.B.1737, a bill which would create recommendations for the regulation of children’s camps in California, has been further amended in the Senate. This report is to be created in consultation with the State Department of Public Health, the State Department of Education, the Office of the State Fire Marshal, the Department of Industrial Relations, parent advocate organizations and other stakeholders. ![]() If adopted, the newest version of the proposal requires the State Department of Social Services to provide a report to the Legislature on or before January 1, 2024, that will provide recommendations for regulations for the safety and oversight of children’s camps.
